Book One Summary

Jillian, A Dakota Hunt Novel, Book One is a fictional mystery suspense story about a young woman who experiences a tragic, life altering fate and Dakota, her twin brother, who stricken with grief and guilt, blames himself for her disappearance.

Forty-one years ago, Jillian disappeared after naively allowing herself to get into the wrong vehicle of an unknown man, who was supposedly taking her to pick up some tickets to a music festival.

Dakota believes Jillian was abducted by a trafficking syndicate, reported to have been conducting shady business in Colorado at the time of her disappearance. While the family and investigative authorities continue to search for the criminals responsible for her abduction, Private Detective Dakota Hunt and a compassionate team of truckers join an FBI task force team to hunt, track and capture sex traffickers across the country.

Dakota and his team have been extraordinarily successful due to the remarkable assistance of Sarah Beaulieu, a vigilante whose main mission is to rescue women who have been abducted and take them to safe havens. Sarah anonymously calls Dirk Hays, the FBI agent in charge of the trafficking division as well as one of the team members providing clues to the locations of several criminal organizations. While hunting for these heinous criminals, Sarah hopes to find her long lost friend, Grace Nadeau, who also went missing many years ago.

The adventures of the team lure the reader into the thrilling dynamics of the pursuit of sex traffickers and the rescue of many young women. There are several surprises in the novel as the characters and their stories intertwine while the riveting adventures of the task force team unfold.

Information about the sex trade and references to actual busts by the FBI and Homeland Security are mentioned giving the reader some understanding about how tremendous the human trafficking problem is across the U.S.

Book Two Summary

Anji, A Dakota Hunt Novel, Book Two is a fictional mystery suspense story about a young woman living with her family in a small, remote town in northwest Alaska, who is overwhelmed with remorse after witnessing a terrifying incident in Anchorage that she chose to keep undisclosed. She asks herself, “If I had let out a blood curdling scream and sprinted toward the girl, could I have changed her fate or would I have unintentionally altered my own?”

Anji believes in the science and truth of all things, rather than in the widely accepted spiritual philosophies of her family and friends. A major turning point, unraveling her previously held convictions occurred when she caught a glimpse of the face of a young woman appearing in a mysterious northern light display. Confusion overwhelms her as she attempts to discover the meaning of the startling vision and solve a puzzling mystery.

Understanding there may be a connection to the young woman, she is determined to help the authorities purge the state of the heinous criminals who have been trafficking and murdering young Alaskan women.

As Anji prepares to attend a university in the lower forty-eight states, she begins to have concerns about her future plans. She learns that she must choose between her life in a peaceful, pristine remote environment and one in a more chaotic, unsafe world that she must learn to cope with. Realizing that the world is not safe, Anji arranges for a group of compassionate individuals to come to the aid of the people of Alaska. Along with a dynamic, determined FBI task force, including Private Detective Dakota Hunt’s team, her family and friends work together on a dangerous mission to take down a major organized crime syndicate, who has plagued Alaska for decades.
